A Little Bit of Water Can Do a Lot of Damage

Water into Whining

Most of the time, there is no reason not to love water. Water is what makes Lake Michigan a lake. Water is why Anchor Bay is a bay. Water gives us showers, boating, coffee, and gardens.

Water, however needed, is not needed everywhere. As a matter of fact, it is needed to NOT be some places, including down the walls, flooding the kitchen, or dripping into the basement from the first floor.

When the water goes awry, the whining begins.

Fortunately, there’s no need to whine, whimper, or wail. Just call us: SERVPRO® of Mount Clemens, New Baltimore. Our number is 586-598-5050. Emergency services are available all day, every day. Odd hours of the morning, holidays, weekends… whenever we’re needed, we will come to restore your home from water damage. Since water keeps causing damage until it is removed, we also prevent damage.

Possible Sources of Water Damage

Storm damage: Michigan is not in a temperate zone. No doubt you’ve noticed. We’re not strangers to high winds, snow, rain, or hail. Storms can lead to leaking roofs, cracked foundations and wet basements, and related problems.

Rain and floods: Oh yeah, we’ve had those.

Broken appliances: Torn washing-machine hoses, cracked dishwasher pipes, and nonworking freezers all leak water.

Burst pipes: let’s save that description for closer to Halloween when scares are expected.

Tub overflows and clogged shower drains: just as scary as above

Toilet overflows: even scarier

Whether the water comes from a slow leak that someone just noticed, or a sudden disaster, or was the result of fire suppression, water can cause serious damage.

It’s interesting that the same substance we rely upon to keep us hydrated, alive, and to wash our delicate faces is the same substance that carved out the Grand Canyon.

Water is called the “universal solvent” for a reason. It dissolves more substances than anything else, even acid. Water is slower than most acids, but the materials in our homes don’t require much time to become damaged.
